A Cake by Heidi is never bought in or made with cake mixes.
Your cake will taste as good as it looks. Home baking allows flexibility - for example, having different flavoured tiers. In fact, the world is your oyster; you can mix and match size shapes and flavours to your hearts desire. You will know exactly what you are getting, right down to the depth of each cake and how many portions it will provide.
About your Wedding Cake design
Your ideal Wedding Cake design is somewhere in your head.
Heidi draws inspiration from you the Bride and sometimes the Groom. Collectively we find a design that is 'different' and unique to you
The idea is to produce that all-important WOW factor for you and your guests.
Wherever the elusive 'Wow' factor may reside, Heidi is expert at tracking it down. She will produce for you various ideas in the form of sugar samples for your approval. If your design is especially challenging she will make a prototype of the whole cake so that you are faced with no surprises on the day. Your choices are infinite, optional finishes can also include beautiful shimmer and a sparkling effect to emulate diamonds.
About Cake Styling
Cake styling is about creating a setting for your finished and decorated cake.
All cake stands available to hire from Heidi are unique and are not available anywhere else. Expertly hand crafted; they follow exactly the lines of the individual tins in which the cakes are baked, therefore enhancing the look of your cake, giving an impression of another tier. Stands come in all shapes, sizes and in any matching colour. Choose from stands, which are transparent, illuminated, tilting and rotating. The price of this optional service includes the hire of all-additional matching drapes, table clothes and designer pillars.
About delivery and set up of your Wedding Cake
The safest and most hygienic time for delivery and the set up of your Wedding Cake at your venue is probably shortly before you arrive at the reception. This will be discussed in detail later.
About Heidi
Heidi is a creative and award winning cake designer with over forty years experience in the catering profession. Her skill in the craft of cake design is a natural combination of her professional experience and interests in painting and textiles.
Her outstanding original designs are regularly published in
Wedding Cakes - A Design Source. Heidi was delighted to design an exclusive Wedding Cake courtesy of Wedgwood and is creator of the magnificent 'Chocolate Tower' sponsored by Thorntons.
Chocolate Wedding Cakes are now so popular that Heidi recently travelled to Switzerland to learn from the masters.
Heidi's work has also been featured in Cake Decoration magazine; Wedding Day magazine; The Daily Telegraph; Jaguar cars publication, Topics; BBC Good Food Guide and one of her unique designs has been selected by BT in an advertising campaign. Heidi was also invited to the Hilton Hotel, London, to decorate the cake for the Child of Achievement award ceremony.
